Gatherings at The Land

840 S. Powhaton Rd
Aurora, CO 80018

Saturdays at 10am (September through May)
Sundays at 6pm (June through August)

Worship gatherings at The Land are located in an outdoor sanctuary, providing plenty of opportunities to witness antelope walking across the prairie and the geese flying overhead. In the winter, four walls and a propane heater ensure that everyone is comfortable. Likewise, during the summer months, the shade provided from the canopy sanctuary combines with the prairie breeze making even the hottest summer evening bearable.

Worship services generally last 45-minutes and include songs, communion, prayer and a sermon. Communion is open to anyone who would like to participate while also creating a safe space to not participate if that’s what you would prefer. The worship program can be accessed online for anyone who would like a sneak peek of what’s coming up this week.

During the worship service, children are welcome to go to Prairie School with Miss Amanda or stay in the worship area. Since we worship outdoors, friendly dogs are also welcome to worship with us!

After worship, everyone is welcome to stay for a community meal. Meals for any given gathering are located on the website calendar.

The Land is a community of faith committed to expanding the boundaries of inclusion. While Pastor Stephanie is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, the majority of our participants are not members of any specific denomination. Additionally, The Land welcomes all people, regardless of religious background, gender identity, sexual orientation, relationship status and ethnicity, to participate fully in the community at The Land. While we identify as a Christian community, we also welcome and respect persons from other religious traditions and persons who may describe themselves as unconventional Christians. At The Land, we prioritize kindness and generosity in relationship, over and above rituals or doctrines.

UPDATE: Parking at The Land

With the location of the canopy now resting on the far east side of our property, making your way to worship will take a few more steps than it did before! We are inviting everyone who is able to park in the grassy lot located immediately to the right of the green entry gate. From the parking lot there is a well-worn pathway that you will take to the outdoor sanctuary.

Please know, there are two parking spots right next to the outdoor sanctuary that are open to anyone who needs them! We are just asking that, in the name of conservation, tires follow the current trail leading to the canopy so we avoid further disruption of our prairie land. Thanks so much and see you soon!

Severe Weather Policy

At The Land, gathering outdoors means surrendering to the unpredictable patterns of weather. We have gathered in snow, wind, and light rain; appreciating its presence and the gifts it brings to the earth. Saturday morning worship will only be canceled for weather that presents safety concerns; lightning, hail, high winds and heavy rains will necessitate cancellation. In the event of severe weather, we may shorten worship or decide to cancel worship. Decisions to cancel worship will be made by 8:30 a.m. the morning of a gathering and will be posted to the website and Facebook page.
