Patti was born and raised on the beaches in southern California. She got her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from University of California: Santa Barbara. After college, she was a campus minister at UCLA with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. From there she worked at the local YMCA while attending seminary at Fuller Theological Seminary. She then moved to Colorado and was ordained as an elder in the United Methodist Church in 1994. She has served 14 churches in all kinds of communities from small rural communities in Colorado and Montana, to the suburbs of Denver in Aurora and Broomfield, as well as in Helena, Montana, and Colorado Springs. She also planted a church and served on the New Church Development team for the Rocky Mountain/Mountain Sky Conference for over 15 years. Along the way, she studied and earned her Doctor of Ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary. Currently she is serving as the senior pastor at Smoky Hill UMC in Centennial.
Patti brings all that experience to serve on our Board. She first stepped foot on the land in the Fall of 2006, when she helped lead worship services to maintain the tax-exempt status for the land. She has advocated for, supported, and participated in the development of what is now The Land and is honored now to serve on the Leadership Board.
Patti was a competitive gymnast for 10 years and enjoys following NCAA Women’s gymnastics. (DU has an excellent team!) She also enjoys hiking, quilting, and hanging out with her family. Her daughters live in Denver and Wellington. Recently her parents moved to Ft. Collins. They have lots of adventures and laughs together!
