Pastor Connor DeFehr
Pastor of Spiritual Life and WorshipPastor Connor DeFehr
Connor has been a part of the Land since the dead of winter 2019, which shows that he’s truly committed to it! When he’s not getting seconds on food there, he’s probably off to a gig since he has been a professional bassist for many years throughout the Denver area. Connor also greatly enjoys song writing, which often looks like putting new lyrics and chords on an old hymn or setting an old tune to jazz so he can play it with his trio.
His passion for worship has stayed with him since the end of middle school when he played bass and began being mentored under the wing of his good friend Zac Hicks. Under Zac, he developed a passion to not only play fun worship songs, but also to equip people to enter into a deeper relationship with God through the words we sing and reflect on.
Connor recently graduated with an MDiv degree from Denver Seminary and is now pursuing chaplaincy alongside his pastoral call. In his spare time, he enjoys going on hikes, eating unique foods, and reading often. Of course, these things are better done with his wife, Jess, his two cats: Tobias and Thalia, and his baby girl Jovie, who was born April 3rd of 2019.

Amanda Thomas
Prairie School TeacherAmanda Thomas
Amanda recently moved back to Colorado after spending 6 years in California where she earned her bachelor’s degree and teaching credential. She is currently teaching 4th grade at Tollgate Elementary School in Aurora. Stephanie used to babysit her when her mom was planting a church, and it’s an honor to return the favor and help out at Prairie School.

Shelly Livingston
Pastoral Administrative AssistantShelly Livingston
I am a Colorado native and grew up in the Denver area. I started working as an administrative assistant at the John F. Kennedy Child Development Center, where I worked for 4 years. I then continued my career with many years of working in the commercial real estate industry, most recently with AmCap Properties, where I worked for 28 years. At the end of my career there, I was a Property Accountant, responsible for 9 shopping centers in the Denver, Ft. Collins and Colorado Springs areas.
My husband and I decided to try a new adventure in 2016 and retired to Costa Rica. While I tried to get involved with several different activities and made some wonderful friends, I never really felt at home.
In 2017, my husband was diagnosed with esophageal cancer, and we returned to the U.S. for his treatment and surgery during the first part of 2018. During this time, it was very clear to me that I was quite homesick for my life here. My husband has been cancer-free since finishing treatment in 2018. After much discussion with my husband, we agreed that I would come back here, and he would stay in Costa Rica until our house sold.
I returned to Colorado in November of 2018; after a very brief (thankfully) stint as a cashier at Sprouts, I was blessed to come to work at Covenant Presbyterian DTC, where I was further blessed to meet Stephanie. I was thrilled when she offered me part-time work and look forward to a new challenge!
In addition to my husband, I have an adult daughter, 3 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews, and a cute little dog named Auggie.
