Welcome!

We are excited to welcome you to worship with us!

What’s Saturday like?

Worship on The Land begins at 10 am every Saturday under our outdoor canopy sanctuary. Our gatherings typically last 60 minutes and include music with both secular and traditional hymns, time working in the garden, a message, a time for discussion, and usually some snacks. At most gatherings, there are 12-25 people present. Friendly dogs are very welcome to join us in worship.

We strive to create an environment that is affirming of all people just as they are without exception. As a community, we believe that all people are created in the image of God and deserve authentic belonging in a supportive and hospitable community. We understand that cultivating such a community is a process of humility. As such, we gather each week committed to listening, learning, and adjusting our practices to reflect these fresh lessons of love in the community.

Some other questions you might have:

  • The Land is located at 840 S Powhaton Rd in Aurora, CO.

You are welcome to park in the parking lot and walk to the canopies or park right next to the canopies by driving all the way up the driveway.

  • Noisy children. Friendly dogs. Friends and family who may or may not like traditional church!

We provide wooden folding chairs for seating, but you are welcome to bring your own lawn chair if that is more comfortable. We also have water and snacks every gathering.

  • There is no dress code at The Land. We are a casual and laid back group.

Because weather can change quickly on the prairie, we do recommend dressing in layers and wearing shoes that you don’t mind getting dusty like work or hiking boots. Hats and blankets can also make your visit more comfortable.

  • Yes, we do!

In the winter months, the walls of the canopy roll down and patio heaters warm the space to a temperature between 65 and 70 degrees. Hot chocolate and coffee are a regular part of our winter gatherings.

If it’s cold outside, we suggest you dress in layers because as you as you enter our heated sanctuary, you will more than likely need to shed some of those layers.

  • Children are invited to wander around during worship or to meet other children in our Prairie School program that takes place during worship.

Prairie school includes crafts, stories and songs that connect children to the beauty of Creation and the unique gifts of the Prairie ecosystem.

  • Communion is celebrated at every Saturday gathering with gluten free bread and juice.

At The Land, we practice an open table. This means all are welcome to receive communion, regardless of age, sexual orientation, or church membership.
